Determination is made by the contents of the Induction Candidate’s Individual Learning Plan (ILP), reflections and tools (i.e., triangulation of ILP goal, reflection and content of mentoring tools).
The Induction candidate, with the assistance and guidance of the mentor, complete the ILP and bi-annual reflections, both of which focus on showing progress towards mastery of the CSTP through the examination of 2 Case Study Students.
The ILP Review Team and Induction Coordinator examine every candidate’s ILP in both the first and second semesters of the year and provide formative feedback on the path to completion.
All induction candidates present their most significant growth in the CSTP, from their ILP, in the form of an oral presentation at Winter and Spring Colloquia to their colleagues, other mentors, site administrators and/or HR Assistant Superintendents
The ILP Review Team reviews all Induction Candidates’ ILPs, reflections and mentoring tools for progress towards mastery with a rubric.
The ILP Review Team members communicates with one another and the Induction Coordinator, and monitor candidates’ eligibility for program completion on the Requirements Checklist.
The ILP Review Team evaluates candidates’ comprehensive evidence and provides timely feedback to candidates through comments in Google doc versions of their reflections.
Incomplete memos are sent to candidates and their mentors with a list of remaining requirements that need to be completed for Unit completion Status. (Year 1 candidates complete units 1 & 2. Year 2 candidates complete units 3 & 4.) Candidates are given multiple opportunities to complete the requirements.
Year 1 candidates who complete their first two units of study receive “Transportability Documents” along with their Completion memos.
Year 2 candidates who complete their second two units of study receive Completion memos that include invitations to participate in exit interviews and to schedule appointments for recommendation for the clear, with the Induction Coordinator.
If the ILP Review Team Members disagree on eligibility for the recommendation for the clear credential, the Induction Coordinator will ask a lead, experienced mentor to review the reflection and provide feedback to the team to help make a final decision.
The Induction Coordinator tracks all Executive Order requirements on a separate spreadsheet. Email distribution lists specific to EO requirements are kept for easy communication and monitoring of such requirements. Candidates who need to fulfill those requirements may not be recommended for their Clear Credentials until required proof is presented to the Induction Coordinator.
The Credential Analyst works together with the Induction Coordinator to track expiring preliminary credentials.
The Induction Coordinator is the authorized submitter and submits the online recommendation/application to the California Commission on Teacher Credentials after the candidate’s exit interview and d requirements have been met.
The Induction Coordinator supports candidates with their online applications for their Clear Credentials through a shared remote screen. This final step is presented as one last culminating celebratory gesture.
The Coordinator will notify partnering district Induction Designees of candidate credential completion.
